Parkridge Children’s Program
The Parkridge Children’s Program is designed to enrich the quality of life for the
children and youth with multiple disabilities who reside at Parkridge Rehabilitation
Centre. The “Buddies” spend time each day at Parkridge Centre, providing
one-on-one support for the children and youth. Activities include reading stories,
music, time in the playroom, outings, crafts, baking, etc.
This program grew out of an initiative to take summer camp to the children at
Parkridge. It expanded to include school holidays, and now operates 365 days
per year. The Firefighter’s Fund provides a grant for additional hours for children,
youth, and young adults at Parkridge during the summer months.
