Background
CLASI is a non-profit, charitable organization operated by a volunteer Board of
Directors. Founded in 1955 by parents and professionals concerned by the lack
of services for children and adults with special needs, the Association initiated
services such as Elmwood Residences Ltd., Cosmopolitan Industries, John Dolan
School, Integrated Preschools and a host of recreational activities for children and
adults with intellectual disabilities.

Mission Statement
Supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families through advocacy, services and choices to enhance their lives.

Values

- Respect & Dignity - Everyone is valued

- Choices  in education, employment, residence, leisure, friendship and family.

- Meaningful lives - Participation as a valued member of the community.

- Partnerships - Working with community groups, aboriginal organizations, business and government to improve the lives of persons with intellectual disabilities.
